Ludicrous Mode

So that’s my overview of the 2020 Tesla Model S. It is by far the best car I’ve ever driven. And honestly, it’s the future. The day of internal combustion engines is drawing to a close. More and more Electric Vehicles will be offered. And Tesla is leading the way!

Tesla offers a number of Test Drive Events around the country where you can get behind the wheel and drive most models. Check out the Tesla web page to see if there’s an upcoming event near you. You can also visit a Tesla dealer.

But…you ask…how much does it cost?

Well, here’s the rundown on 2020 Tesla models:

Model S – starting at $74,990

Model 3 – starting at $37,990

Model Y – starting at $49,990

Model X – starting at $79,990

Tesla does accept trade-ins although I personally think you’d get a better price selling your car to CarMax or to your local dealer.

Finally…

Don’t forget to use the Referral Code if you order any of the Tesla models. You’ll get 1,000 free supercharger miles (and so will I)!

The code is https://ts.la/martin/4151

When you drive a Tesla, you take control of a futuristic high-tech vehicle that allows you to choose an array of options that enable you to fine-tune the car’s performance to your own liking. Selecting the Control Panel on the 17-inch screen – as shown on the left – presents you with a menu listing the main systems of your car. In the photo, you can see the options available to you under the DRIVING category. Here you can select your preferred degree of acceleration, ranging from gentle to extremely fast (the Ludicrous+ mode). How do you want the steering to feel – like your granddaddy’s Oldsmobile, or like your grandma’s Porsche 911? And when you take your foot off the accelerator do you want the car to roll freely or use regenerative braking which puts some juice back into the battery? It also makes your brakes last longer.

Each category on the Control Panel allows you to make the car perform the way you want. No need to take it to a dealer or get out the tool box to open up the innards and do-it-yourself. Just make a selection on the touchscreen and you’re in business!

You may notice that the last item on the Control Panel is SOFTWARE. This is one of the breakthrough features of Tesla automobiles. Instead of coming out with redesigned models every year, Tesla sends out new features (and fixes) several times a year that the owner can download over WiFi. This means that your 2017 Model S has all the updated features of my 2020 Model S. No need to trade-in your car just to get the next generation of technological advances. You’ll get them all over WiFi – and for free!
