A Chrismon Service

Chrismons are Christmas decorations with Christian symbols on them. They were first made by Frances Kipps Spencer at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Danville, Virginia. She described these decorations as "Chrismons" - Christ monograms. Chrismons are traditionally white and gold and include many Old and New Testament symbols representing Christ. The Tellico Village Chrismon Tree On the First Sunday in Advent each year at Tellico Village Community Church an undecorated  Christmas Tree was placed in the Chancel (front stage of the sanctuary).
